Dog and Cat Fun

Here are 2 cards that I created using the Stamp Sets "D is for Dog" and "C is for Cat".

I started with a Basic Black Card (5-1/2" x 8-1/2") and stamped the paw print all over a Whisper White Topper (4" x 5-1/4").  I then ran the stamped Whisper White card thru the Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder. (It's hard to see the texture that the embossing folder adds, but it looks way cool!!)  I then stamped the dog in Basic Black and then punched it out with the Wide Oval Punch.  I stamped the bone in Basic Black and punched it out using the 1" circle punch.  I punched a scrap sheet of Basic Black with the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle and the 1-1/4" Circle punches.  I stamped the "birthday wishes" from the So Happy For You" Stamp set.  Used a Square punch to cut the corners.

I adhered all the punched pieces together and then added a  Real Red 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon across the top of the Whisper White topper.  Added the Punched pieces with Dimensionals.  Took a piece of Hemp Twine and tied it around the Real Red Ribbon as shown.  I attached the Sentiment on with Glue Dots.

I made the Cat card similar to the Dog card except I used Very Vanilla, Early Expresso and Pear Pizzazz for the colors.

Now isn't that fun!!!  Stamping is just the best and fun time.  Go to my website today to place your order and have fun making these Dog or Cat cards.

Happy Best Friend time.

Upsy Daisy Cards

Here are 2 cards we created in My Stamp Club in February.  We did different bow tying techniques.  If you interested in learning more about joining my Stamp Club, email me and I can fill you in with the details.

Here is the Recipe:

Upsy Daisy Stamp Set
Poppy Parade Card Stock 5.5" x 8.5" & scrap piece
Naturals White Card Stock  4" x 3.25" & scrap piece
Poppy Parade Designer Series Paper (DSP) or Blushing Bride 4" x 2.25"

Blushing Bride Ink Pad
Poppy Parade Stampin Marker
Pear Pizzazz Stampin Marker
Blender Pen
Blushing Bride Ribbon

Glimmer Brads or a brad of your choice
Scallop Oval Punch
1-3/4" x 7/8" Oval Punch
Stampin Dimensionals
Snail Adhesive
  1. Stamp the Daisy Stamp in the Blushing Bride.  Take the blender pen and clean off the stems of the daisies.  Tip:  each time you use the blender pen on a stem, clean it on scrap paper before removing another stem.
  2. Color the stems with the Pear Pizzazz Stampin Marker.  Color the tips of the daisies with the Poppy Parade marker.
  3. Stamp the Daisy about 1/4" off the bottom of the Natural White card stock.
  4. Clean the stamp and repeat steps 1 thru 3 on top of the Daisy stamp for the oval, you can pick what daises you want, I picked a bunch with 3 daises, stamp this on your scrap Natural White card stock.
  5. Stamp Birthday Celebration or sentiment of your choice in the center of the top daises stamped in step 4.  Using a Stamp-a-ma-jig can help you line the sentiment up just where you want it.
  6. Punch out the sentiment with the 1-3/4" x 7/8" Oval Punch.
  7. Punch out the scrap Poppy Parade card stock using the scallop oval punch.
  8. Adhere the sentiment oval to the Poppy Parade scallop oval using the Snail adhesive.
  9. Adhere the full stamped Daisy image to the Poppy Parade DSP, overlap about an 1/4".
  10. Wrap Blushing Bride ribbon around card stock where the 2 pieces come together, adhere with snail adhesive to the back.
  11. Tie bow and add brad to middle, see tutorial here:  making bows.  This card idea and bow making came from Mary Brown.
  12. Adhere to all to Poppy Parade card stock.
  13. Add sentiment with of course my favorite Stampin Dimensionals.

You can run the Daisy image thru the Big Shot Polka Dot embossing folder if you choose, like I did with the thank you card, before I adhered it to the card.  Enjoy making these wonderful cards.

Inky Hugs!

    Lucky Shamrock Card

The Lucky Shamrock card I am sharing today is a card that I created for my K.I.S.S. (Keep it simple stamping) night and for our Card ministry at church.  Kathy Seals (my up-line) and I started a card ministry at our church last August.  It is called St. Thomas More Hands to Hearts Card Ministry.  We send cards to sick members of our church, birthdays over 60, sympathy cards, shut-in and home bound members and we just added this month welcome cards and new baby cards.  The response to this new ministry has been great so far.  The members are enjoying receiving the cards and our members are enjoying creating the cards and the fellowship with one another.  We could use more help in creating the cards, so if you are local and would like to participate, we meet the first Monday of every month at 7pm and the first Wednesday at 10:00am.   The reason I am sharing all of this is because we try to send the shut-in and home bound members a card each month and if there is a holiday or special theme that month, we like to include that, example last month we sent a Valentine card, for November we sent a Thanksgiving, December, Christmas, etc.  So this month we will send this Lucky Shamrock card in honor of St. Patrick's Day.

So how did I make this very Lucky card:

    Recipe:
Lucky Shamrock Single Stamp from the Occasions Mini
So Happy for You Sale-a-bration stamp set
Pear Pizzazz card stock 4.25" x 11" and scrap pieces
Whisper White card stock 4" x 5.25" and scrap piece
Garden Green card stock scrap piece
Pear Pizzazz and Garden Green ink pad
    1-3/4" Circle punch
    Full Heart punch
    Heart to Heart punch
    Wide Oval punch
    Square Lattice embossing folder
    Big Shot
    Stampin' Up! glue stick
    Dimensionals

    1. Punch the 4 large hearts on the scrap Pear Pizzazz card stock with the Full Heart punch.
    2. Punch the 4 smaller hearts using the scrap Garden Green card stock with the medium size heart in the Heart to Heart punch.
    3. Stamp the Lucky Shamrock stamp with the Garden Green ink pad on the scrap Whisper White card stock and punch out using the 1-3/4" punch.
    4. Punch out a wide oval with scrap Pear Pizzazz and then punch a sliver with the punch again on the hole from the previous punch.
    5. Stamp the clover from the So Happy for You stamp set in the 2 green colors all over the Whisper White card stock as shown.
    6. Glue hearts on the Whisper White card stock as shown in picture, make sure to glue all the edges of the hearts and stem.
    7. Now you are ready to run the Whisper White card stock thru the Big Shot.  Place the decorated Whisper White card stock in the Square Lattice embossing folder upside down (stamped and heart side facing down and the words Stampin' Up! facing up.
    8. Now isn't that cool.  I think that texture that the embossing produces looks so neat.  Adhere to your Pear Pizazz card.
    9. Attach the Lucky Shamrock image with of course my favorite dimensionals on front.
Easy Peasy....Isn't that cool!!  I just love it.

My Mother is Irish and is very proud of that.  My Dad is German.  So I guess I'm half and half!

Happy St. Patty's Day everyone.   Make sure you wear green on March 17.

    Hope your week is great!!!

Fun SAB Card My Digital Studio Style

My Card Share today is one that I cased from Robin Merriman (who is one of my Stampin idols).  She created a card similar using Free Sale-a-bration items including Ice Cream Parlor DSP & Quick Accents, Ice Cream Parlor Ribbon & Brads and So Happy for You stamp set.

I created my "Hybrid" card using My Digital Studio (MDS) #118108  and the FREE Sale-a-bration Digital Content CD.  I created 4 toppers on one 8 1/2" x 11" paper, portrait orientation in MDS.  I created one part of the topper and then copied and pasted it 3 more times, see below, all this part was created in MDS.

I then cut this to 4 pieces that are 4" x 5 1/4" in size.  Now what do I mean by "Hybrid."  I love to create cards and scrapbook pages using My Digital Studio (MDS), but I also love crafting cards by hand.  So I take the topper that I created and adhere it to a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Whisper White card stock.  Then I took a 3 1/2" x 1 1/4" Whisper White card stock. Stamped my sentiment from the Sale-a-bration "So Happy for You" stamp set.  I took my 1 3/8" square punch and punched the ends of the stamped paper.  I took the stamped paper and ran my bone folder across the stamped, punched  paper to give it the wavy look.  I then attached 2 mini glue dots at 2 spots and adhered it to the card.  I also added a button with a mini glue dot on the MDS bow.  How easy was that.  The ribbon looks so real.  Everyone that sees a ribbon on a card that was done in MDS touch it because they think it is real.  This card can be created in no time and is so much fun!!

    Happy hump day everyone!!

    Inky Hugs,

    Becky
