Mother's Day Decor Blocks

Happy Mother's Day to all you mom's out there!!  Being a mom is one of the best things ever!!  I have been so blessed to have a wonderful mom!!  We will travel today to visit my mom and the rest of my family, what a great way to spend Mother's Day!  The only thing that would make it better, if my older son, Adam could be here!  But hopefully he will be able to come home in June.

Christmas Gift/Treat for Neighbors and Friends

I make this wonderful carmel corn.  Instead of using popcorn, I use a butter puff corn that Frito Lay makes.  So you don't have to deal with the kernels.  The carmel corn is so good, I had a couple of people ask me to make some for them to give as presents.  Here's the bummer, I cannot share the recipe, my mom was given the recipe from a friend and she promised not share it.  I know its crazy.  But if you would like to try some, you will have to stop by.

I used the Frostwood Designer Series Paper (DSP) (do you think I liked it) I used several packs of it this season.  I might have to order some more before January 4th.  I think it can be used for more than just Christmas and it is great for manly cards and gifts.  I used the Homemade a la carte stamp and I used white embossing powder on Garden Green card stock.  The raised embossed image gives it a nice finish and really makes it pop.  I used our large cello bags (you get 50 in a pack for $4.95) and cut a 4" x 6" piece of DSP and snailed on top of the bag.  The Homemade stamp matches the 2-3/8" punch perfectly.  I punched a 2-1/2" circle to place behind the stamped image.   And of course I used dimensionals to place the image on the DSP.    We had fun delivering these Christmas day.

Tomorrow I will post pictures from our club/team Christmas party.

Love and Hugs,
Becky

Heat Embossing on Tile

Here is a project that we did at my Club/Team Christmas Party today.  It is so easy to heat emboss on the tile.  We used the Brayer to ink the stamp with Versa Mark.  We used the Sweet Floral stamp and Pursuit of Happiness stamp sets and Cherry Cobbler embossing powder.  I decided it would look good with Melon Mambo embossing powder too, will be trying that real soon.  It does take a little longer to heat the tile than it does to heat paper.   But the results are fabulous

Animal Stories

Here is a card I created using the stamp sets Animal Stories and Circle Circus.  I just love the Animal Stories stamp set and it is one of the stamp sets that is retiring this month.  It has an elephant, giraffe, owl and whale as stamps.  It makes a great welcome baby card.

Here is how I made it.  I started with a 5.5" x 8.5" piece of Daffodil Delight card stock.  I then cut a Whisper White topper (4" x 5.25")  I stamped all over the white card stock with the Circle Circus stamp set (this is one of my favorites, thank goodness it is not retiring) using Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Wild Wasabi, Tangerine Tango and Melon Mambo (all bright and fun colors).  I then ran it thru the Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder.   I cut a piece of Daffodil Delight 5/8" grosgrain ribbon (retiring) and wrapped it around the embossed card stock and snailed on the back.  I attached this to the front of the Daffodil Delight card.

The stamped the giraffe on a 2" x 3" Whisper White card stock with a Versa Mark pad and then heat embossed it with the new Melon Mambo embossing powder to give a fun pop.  I attached it to a 3.25" x 2.25" Melon Mambo card stock.  I adhered this to the front of the card as shown with you guessed my favorite Dimensionals.

I stamped the "Hello Baby" (Teeny Tiny Wishes) in Melon Mambo on scrap Whisper White card stock.  I punched it out using the 1-3/4" x 7/8" oval punch.  I punched out of scrap Melon Mambo card stock using the Scallop Oval Punch.  I adhered the 2 pieces together and then attached with dimensionals.

I cut another 4" x 5.25" Whisper White card stock and put it inside the card and stamped a Melon Mambo elephant (Animal Stories stamp set) and stamped the sentiment in Melon Mambo using the Baby stamp from the Hostess Level 3 stamp set "Occasional Quotes" which just has the best quotes in it.

I think this card will be fun to make in Tangerine Tango and Wild Wasabi (our 2 other new embossing powders).  Enjoy making this card as we say goodbye to this fabulous stamp set Animal Stories to make room to say hello to some new stamps.

Check out my side bar menus for lists of all the retiring stamps and accessories.  Accessories are while supplies last.

Inky Hugs,

Becky
