Card Houses

Hope everyone had a great weekend.  We had a busy and fun weekend.  My mom came up on Friday and brought my niece Katherine and her friend Allie (both 15) and I just love them to death.  She had taken them to the beach for a couple of days, my son Daniel had gone too.  My husband took the 3 kids to the lake in the early Saturday morning to go tubing and fishing.  They had a great time!!  They got up at 4:30 am so they could get up to the lake before if got real busy and rough.  My mom and I didn’t go, it was way too early for us.

Well the girls just love to stamp and craft.  So Saturday afternoon when they got back, they each created their own card house.  These girls are so creative!!  I just love to see what they come up with.  I wanted to share the pictures of their houses.  My mom and I also decorated our houses.

Animal Stories

Here is a card I created using the stamp sets Animal Stories and Circle Circus.  I just love the Animal Stories stamp set and it is one of the stamp sets that is retiring this month.  It has an elephant, giraffe, owl and whale as stamps.  It makes a great welcome baby card.

Here is how I made it.  I started with a 5.5" x 8.5" piece of Daffodil Delight card stock.  I then cut a Whisper White topper (4" x 5.25")  I stamped all over the white card stock with the Circle Circus stamp set (this is one of my favorites, thank goodness it is not retiring) using Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Wild Wasabi, Tangerine Tango and Melon Mambo (all bright and fun colors).  I then ran it thru the Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder.   I cut a piece of Daffodil Delight 5/8" grosgrain ribbon (retiring) and wrapped it around the embossed card stock and snailed on the back.  I attached this to the front of the Daffodil Delight card.

The stamped the giraffe on a 2" x 3" Whisper White card stock with a Versa Mark pad and then heat embossed it with the new Melon Mambo embossing powder to give a fun pop.  I attached it to a 3.25" x 2.25" Melon Mambo card stock.  I adhered this to the front of the card as shown with you guessed my favorite Dimensionals.

I stamped the "Hello Baby" (Teeny Tiny Wishes) in Melon Mambo on scrap Whisper White card stock.  I punched it out using the 1-3/4" x 7/8" oval punch.  I punched out of scrap Melon Mambo card stock using the Scallop Oval Punch.  I adhered the 2 pieces together and then attached with dimensionals.

I cut another 4" x 5.25" Whisper White card stock and put it inside the card and stamped a Melon Mambo elephant (Animal Stories stamp set) and stamped the sentiment in Melon Mambo using the Baby stamp from the Hostess Level 3 stamp set "Occasional Quotes" which just has the best quotes in it.

I think this card will be fun to make in Tangerine Tango and Wild Wasabi (our 2 other new embossing powders).  Enjoy making this card as we say goodbye to this fabulous stamp set Animal Stories to make room to say hello to some new stamps.

Check out my side bar menus for lists of all the retiring stamps and accessories.  Accessories are while supplies last.
